AZIENDA AGRICOLA GARRONE

The Garrone Evasio & Figlio winery is a strictly family-run business, now managed by Marco and Dante Garrone with the help of Marco's wife, Cinzia.
The Garrone family's real asset consists of fourteen hectares of vineyards, spread across the hills of the Asti Monferrato region, divided between the municipalities of Grana, Montemagno, and Castagnole Monferrato.
The vineyards are cultivated in accordance with rules that guarantee the lowest possible environmental impact, with particular attention paid to the hydrogeological conditions of the soil, in order to avoid instability and erosion that could damage the delicate balance of our environment.
The harvest is carried out manually, so as to have total control over the quality of the product that arrives at the winery.
Vinification begins with the inoculation of selected yeasts, followed by maceration of varying duration depending on the type of wine. Once vinification is complete, the wines undergo a period of ageing in wood or steel, followed by the necessary processes for bottling.
The company's ‘historic’ cellar, built by Evasio Garrone around 1920, is used for ageing in wood. It contains around twenty large wooden barrels, with a capacity ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 litres, the oldest of which is around 130 years old.
We use a cellar dating back to 1975 for processing, which is less “romantic” but much more suitable for filtration and bottling operations, as well as for product storage.
The company also has a tasting room, where direct sales are also carried out.
The historic winery also hosts tastings and cultural events throughout the year, while in the summer the vineyards provide the backdrop for picnics and off-road tours.
