IL CASTELLO DI RAZZANO

DJI_0078-2.jpg

The Olearo family entered the world of wine in 1927, when Ernesto Olearo and his wife Clementina Razzano built their first small winery at the current Tenuta Cà di Corte.

The company experienced significant expansion starting from the 1940s, thanks to the determination and remarkable entrepreneurial skills of Eugenio Olearo, nicknamed ‘Genio’, grandfather of the present generation.

The company expanded with the purchase of new land and properties, including Tenuta Castello di Razzano in 1968 from the Caligaris family, and Tenuta Campasso in 1975.

The big turning point came in the 1980s with the arrival of Augusto Olearo, Eugenio's son, who, after studying oenology at the school in Alba, totally revolutionised the company's philosophy with great courage and sagacity.

In 2002, Augusto Olearo had the foresight to launch a project to completely renovate Castello di Razzano. After seven years of work, the building was restored to its original splendour, with the opening of a charming Relais and the installation of the ArteVino Razzano Museum.

Augusto's sons, Riccardo and Federico, joined the company in 2006, driven by their passion for the historic family business. Both have absorbed the determination, audacity, entrepreneurial spirit, and courage of past generations and look together towards the future of the company.

Currently, Castello di Razzano includes, in addition to its historic wine production, the production of extra virgin olive oil, a charming Relais, a restaurant, and the ArteVino Razzano Museum, which are spread across the company's three estates, but the spirit of innovation does not stop there...
